Due the catch of plankton and small shrimps which are of very good quality and favored by these giant fish (whale shark in sumbawa), at that hour they will swim circle arround fishermen’s Bagan nets that begin to be hauled up to the boat, usually sumbawa whale shark are infrequently caught in the net, but the fishermen carefully release free the whale sharks.

Sumbawa Whale Shark Tour Itinerary

Day 1

11:00 AM – Pick-Up at Sultan Kaharuddin Sumbawa Airport (SWQ) Our tour guide will meet you at the Arrival Gate of Sultan Kaharuddin Sumbawa Airport, based on your arrival time, to start the Sumbawa Whale Shark Tour.

11:30 AM – Visit Sultan Sumbawa’s Oldest Wooden Palace (Dalam Loka) Explore the historic Dalam Loka Sultanese Palace, wad built in 1885, and discover the cultural heritage of Sumbawa.
12:00 PM – Lunch in Sumbawa Town Enjoy lunch in Sumbawa Town at your own expense, with various local eateries offering delicious traditional food.
1:30 PM – Road Trip to Labu Jambu Village (Tarano District) Transfer by road to Labu Jambu Village in Tarano District, taking in scenic views along the way.
3:30 PM – Check-In at Hotel, Arrive at the hotel and check-in. You’ll have time to relax and refresh after the road trip from sumbawa besar
6:00 PM – Free Time and Rest, Enjoy the rest of the evening at your leisure. You can explore the area or simply rest at the hotel. Dinner – Available at the hotel with a selection of local dishes.1

Tour Itinerary - Day 2

04:00 AM – Hotel pick-up for an exciting whale shark adventure in Sumbawa.
04:30 AM – Embark on a boat to the Sumbawa Whale Shark Point, where you’ll enjoy a scenic ride across the calm waters.
06:00 AM – Witness a breathtaking sunrise at Saleh Bay, with a stunning view of Tambora Volcano in the background. Upon arrival at Whale Shark Point, you’ll have the opportunity to dive, swim, and snorkel with the majestic whale sharks.
08:00 AM – Enjoy a light breakfast on the boat with bread, coffee, tea, and fresh fruit while soaking in the beauty of the surroundings.
08:30 AM – Depart from Whale Shark Point and head back.

10:00 AM – Arrive at Labu Jambu Harbour.
11:00 AM – Return to the hotel for a quick freshen-up and check-out.
12:30 PM – Begin the journey back to Sumbawa Besar.
01:00 PM – Optional stop for a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.
02:30 PM – Drop-off at a hotel near Sumbawa Besar Airport. End of program, and end of service.

Whale Shark Sumbawa Tour package is PRIVATE and will not be shared with other
Children 5 years old and under at the same time of tour are free of charge
All minors must be accompanied by parents/guardians at all time.
Payment of a 40% deposit is required to secure a package reservation
Flexible tour dates are available upon request
Once you decide to book the trip please provide us with details of your feet For snorkeling and swimming fins
The remaining payment can be transferred/cash when you meet our guide

Cancelation & Reschedule Policy

Cancellation up to 3 days before the event: a 25% cancellation fee will apply, based on the total booking price.
Cancellation 3 day before or on the day of the event: The deposit is non-refundable, but you will get the opportunity to do the tour any other day as scheduled with 20%-25% extra charge, cause some accomodation was booked for your tour before.
No-show on the day of the event: Regardless of prior cancellation, the payment is non-refundable.
Force majeure (e.g., bad weather, natural disasters, war): The guide reserves the right to cancel or modify the schedule/itinerary for the safety of participants and crew. Any changes or cancellations due to force majeure are non-refundable
